Doctor Vlašić graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Zagreb in 2003. Upon completion of the internship at the Clinical Hospital Jordanovac, he became a research assistant on the project of the Croatian Ministry of Science, "Carcinogenesis and goiter in Croatia" in the Clinical Hospital Sestre milosrdnice at the Department of Nuclear Medicine. He starts his specialization in ophthalmology in 2009, under the mentorship of the Professor Iva Dekaris. He passed specialist exam in 2013.
Work area
In his work, Doctor Marko Vlašić focused on the posterior ocular segment. He works with patients suffering from macula degeneration, also performs monitoring and therapeutic procedures in patients with diabetes who have developed complications in ocular fundus. He applies the latest treatment methods - intravitreal therapy (injections of Avastin, Lucentis and Eylea). He performs laser photocoagulation of the retina in patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy and in patients with damage of the retina (retinal rupture) with modern Pascal apparatus.

He is a coordinator of the research at the clinic Svjetlost as part of a major international multicenter study of intravitreal drug Fovista. Fovista is the latest drug in clinical practice for the treatment of macular degeneration.
