Education

Dr. Ivan Samuel Modrić was born in Duisburg, Germany, where he completed his primary and secondary education. He graduated in 2023 from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Rijeka (Medicine program taught in English).

During his studies and early professional development, he gained experience working in a hospital setting, including volunteering at the emergency department during the COVID-19 pandemic, for which he received the Dean's Award.
After completing his studies, he worked in the out-of-hospital emergency service of the Zagreb Emergency Medicine Institute.

Area of work

Dr. Modrić is currently specializing in Ophthalmology and Optometry at the Svjetlost Special Hospital for Ophthalmology, under the mentorship of Prof. Nikica Gabrić, MD, PhD.
His work covers the anterior segment of the eye: cataracts, diseases of the cornea and ocular surface, and minor procedures.
