Doctors of Clinic Svjetlost actively participated at the 20th Winter Congress of the European Society of doctors of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ESCRS) held from 26 to 28 February 2016 in Athens.
Doctors of Eye Clinic Svjetlost actively participated at the 20th Winter Congress of the European Society of doctors of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ESCRS) held from 26 to 28 February 2016 in Athens. The congress was attended by about 3,000 ophthalmologists from Europe and the world, and it is a central Congress of surgeons specialized in the front of the eye (cataracts, cornea, refractive and so on.).Medical Director of Svjetlost, prof. Dekaris, Faculty member of the ESCRS, had a course of operation of cataract during which she taught ophthalmologists modern cataract surgery techniques. In addition, prof. Dekaris participated as a lecturer at the "Cataract Surgery Didactic Course", a course of cataracts for young ophthalmologists with a lecture on the subject of IOL implantation in cases of absence of the capsule: "Complications and complex cases: advanced phaco techniques – Intraocular lenses with no capsule".
As part of the Symposium on the cornea prof. Dekaris presented her experiences with cataract surgery in patients who had previously had cornea transplants: "Cataract after penetrating keratoplasty: a real complication or not?". Also prof. Dekaris held a lecture at the symposium "Free Topics" on the experiences of Clinics Svjetlost in installing new trifokalnih intraocular lenses with extended depth of focus: "Visual and optical performances of new trifocal intraocular lens with extended-depth-of-focus".
Dr. Mary Antičić, head of the clinic Svjetlost in Split, held a lecture at the symposium "Free topics: Refractive surgery "in which she compared the LASIK vision correction method with three different lasers: "Comparison of laser in situ keratomileusis flaps created by 3 femtosecond lasers". The presentation aroused great interest and many positive comments filled the hall.
Dr. Mateja Končarević presented the experience with LASIK vision correction method in patients with foresightedness: "High order aberrations after hyperopic LASIK: comparison of a microkeratome and femtosecond laser". She also gave a lecture on the one-year experience with the installation of Symfony intraocular lenses with extended range of vision after cataract surgery and removing age diopters: "TECNIS Symfony extended-range-of-vision IOL: One year experience ". It is a lens with which gives the patient after surgery good vision at all distances without glasses. The clinic Svjetlost is a leader in Europe in the experience of installing this type of lens.
