At the University Eye Hospital Svjetlost, as part of the Ophthalmology course, medical students listened to lectures.
At the Special Hospital for Ophthalmology Svjetlost, the Department of Ophthalmology at the School of Medicine of the University of Rijeka, as part of the Ophthalmology course, 5th year medical students listened to lectures from 6th -13th February.The lectures about corneal transplantation, refractive surgery, cataracts, glaucoma and strabismus were held by lecturers of the Ophthalmology Chair at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Rijeka: Professor Iva Dekaris, Medical Director of the Svjetlost Eye Clinic, Head of the Corneal Transplant Department; MD. PhD. Ivana Mravičić- Head of the Department of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and Head of the Oculoplastic department; MD. PhD. Ratimir Lazić- Head of the Retina Department; Ph.D. Maja Bohač- Head of the Department of Refractive Surgery; Ph.D. Nataša Drača from the Retina Department and Dr. Ante Barišić- Head of the Cataract Department.
In addition to lectures, students also had the opportunity to attend cataract and vitrectomy surgeries.
