Medical tourism as a focus of the US business delegation´s visit

The representatives of an American firm for health care consulting, Strongside Solutions, during their work visit to Croatia, have visited the Eye clinic Svjetlost and showed great interest in the services that our Clinic provides. Once Mr. Wendell Strickland and Mr. Morgan Pile from Strongside Solutions were welcomed to the Clinic by the management, the idea of mutual cooperation in the field of medical tourism has been discussed in detail.
 
Strongside Solutions representatives have presented their idea of encouraging the US patients to travel to Croatia for the purpose of acquiring medical (eye) treatments at a much more affordable price. Since they use a large network of US employers who are interested in cost optimization of the health insurance plan for their employees, this would bring benefits for both employees and their employers. Taking into account the attractiveness of Croatia as a travel destination and its top medical staff, the conclusion is inevitable -  Croatia will surely be one of the leading destinations for medical tourism in the future.
 
In addition to meeting and visit to the Eye Clinic Svjetlost, Strongside Solutions representatives had the opportunity to speak with the Minister of Tourism Mr. Cappelli and with the Director of the Tourism Chamber of Croatian Chamber of Economy Mrs. Leila Kresic-Juric. Alongside Eye clinic Svjetlost.
 
The aim of this visit is to present Croatian medical institutions as well as our comparative advantages and the services we offer and to identify the potential of our country as a top tourist destination. With the joint efforts of the partners in this project, Polyclinic Bagatin, Agency for medical tourism RexRea, Special hospital for medical rehabilitation Naftalan and Eye clinic Svjetlost, we believe we have layed the foundation for future cooperation.
