Professor Gabrić received the award for an extraordinary contribution to ophthalmology resulting in a significant addition to the development and reputation of the City of Zagreb.On the occasion of the City of Zagreb day, 31st of May, at the City Assembly a ceremony was held at the Old Town Hall where Professor Nikica Gabrić was presented with the City of Zagreb Award.
The Mayor of the City of Zagreb Milan Bandić and the President of the City Assembly Drago Prgomet presented the award to the professor Gabrić, PhD. This award was given for an extraordinary contribution to ophthalmology, which is resulting in the development and reputation of the City of Zagreb.
Alongside with our Professor, this award went to Biserka Baretić-Petlevski, an academic painter, academician Goran Durn, Civil Football Club Dinamo, professor Zlatko Karač, PhD, assistant professor, MA of Science Alen Žunić, professor Marijan Klarica, PhD, Zlatko Križanić, art director Ivica Kunčević, academician Pavel Pavličić, Prljavo kazalište, Davor Rostuhar, Dražen Siriščević, Tin Srbić, Young Gifted Marin Getaldić Mathematicians, and Herman Vukušić.
Academic Branko Lustig was proclaimed an honorary citizen of Zagreb.
Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenković, envoy of the President of the Republic of Croatia Tomislav Madžar, envoy of the President of the Croatian Parliament, Ivan Ćelić, and other senior guests attended the ceremonial sitting at the City Assembly.
