Foundation of the Svjetlost polyclinic
January 1998

The purchase of the first laser for vision correction in Croatia and the first laser vision correction

1998.February

Opening of the cataract surgery operating room.

2002.

Introduction of modern multifocal lenses enabling good vision at both near and far distances, previously unavailable in Croatia.

2004.April

In Svjetlost was given the first injection of Avastin in Croatia

2005.September

Svjetlost receives an approval to conduct medical residency in ophthalmology

2007.October

Brightness performs the latest WaveLight Allegretto Eye Q 400Hz laser vision correction

2008.January

Opening of the newly constructed building of the Clinic Svjetlost in Zagreb

2009.February

Svjetlost purchased the first Femtosecond laser for vision correction in Croatia

Svjetlost Clinic in Cannes received the prestigious "Best Regional Hospital" recognition for excellence in the field of ophthalmology, recognized at the European level.

2016.October

The European Society for Quality Research (ESQR) awarded Svjetlost Ophthalmology Clinic the prestigious Quality Choice Prize for 2016.

2016.December

The first corneal stem cell transplant in this part of Europe was performed at the Clinic.

Opening of Svjetlost in Budva

Among the first in the world to implant Tecnis Eyhance.

Collaboration began with Schwind Eye Tech Solutions on the development of Atos (a 3rd-generation laser for refractive surgery – lenticular surgery).

2020.October

Opening of Svjetlost Beauty in Sarajevo.

2020.

Recognition for the largest number of Synergy IOLs implanted worldwide.

2021.

Svjetlost Eye Clinic received the prestigious status from J&J Vision – Center of Education in ophthalmology, with a special focus on refractive surgery, premium intraocular lenses, and the latest devices in global ophthalmology.

2021.

Collaboration began on the development of Elite, Johnson & Johnson's 3rd-generation refractive surgery laser.

2022.

Schwind Eye Tech Solutions awarded Svjetlost Clinic the status of a reference center for the development of laser surgery.

2023.

Professor Nikica Gabrić received the prestigious "European Manager" award, and Svjetlost Eye Clinic received the "Best Company" award from the European Independent Agency for the selection and promotion of the most successful business people and companies.
