In 2023, Johnson & Johnson entrusted Svjetlost Eye Clinic with yet another important project – the implantation of the TECNIS PureSee™ IOL intraocular lens for presbyopia correction, which enables high-quality vision both day and night.

Daily life at Svjetlost Eye clinics means more than 600 examinations, 40 surgeries across 5 locations, and major news.

“This has been an incredible year by every measure – in the number of procedures we performed, the number of patients we examined – but what marked it most is that in two areas – the implantation of lenses for correcting reading vision and the new laser technology for vision correction – we were the third center in the world where these procedures took place. First, in February, we became the first center in Europe and the third in the world where surgery was performed using the newest Johnson & Johnson Elita laser for vision correction; here, in addition to the first procedure, an entire protocol was developed for the purposes of this laser’s approval by the American FDA. This week, we became the third in the world to implant the newest lens for correcting reading vision, PureSee, also from the Johnson & Johnson company. Two instances in the same year of being the first to apply different technologies within one institution has never happened anywhere in the world before.” – with these words, Professor Gabrić explained the significance of 2023.
