Dr. Mravičić at Europe’s largest Congress of strabismus specialists
Associate Professor Mravičić presented a case of the successful treatment of a 9-year-old girl who underwent surgery at Svjetlost Eye Clinic at the ESA Congress in Porto.
Porto, September 13–16, 2017 – Associate Professor Ivana Mravičić, Head of the Department of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at Svjetlost Eye Clinic, participated in the congress of the European Strabismological Association (ESA), held for the 39th time this year. The congress is the largest and most important annual gathering of European specialists in strabismus (misalignment of the eyes and disorders of eye position and movement), and each year it also attracts leading strabismus specialists from other parts of the world. This year’s congress was attended by as many as 475 strabismus specialists.
Associate Professor Mravičić presented a case involving the successful treatment of a rare congenital syndrome characterized by underdeveloped nerves responsible for eye movement in a 9-year-old girl who underwent surgery at Svjetlost. The condition causes abnormal head positioning, which can interfere with normal daily activities and may also lead to abnormal development of the spine
