The largest association of surgeons of the frontal eye segment has proclaimed Dr. Maja Bohač as the refractive surgeon of the month.
Zagreb, May 26th, 2017 The council of editors of the International Society of Refractive Surgery ISRS has announced that dr. Maja Bohač is the refractive surgeon of the month. This prestigious acknowledgment is for the head of the Refractive Surgery Department of Clinic Svjetlost a result of numerous successful eye operations where she has shown new innovative surgical methods to solve complex cases and previous complications. The operations were all filmed and published as a part of the video surgical congresses where surgeons enable their colleagues to follow their operations live and learn from their techniques. Dr. Maja Bohač received a prize as a member of the team of the Svjetlost Clinic, other members of this team are Prof. Nikica Gabrić, Prof. Iva Dekaris and Dr. Vesna Cerović whose operations were also chosen and recommended as valuable video operations by the world’s leading association of refractive surgeons (ISRS). Members of ISRS are experts in the surgeries of the frontal part of the eye coming from 80 countries around the world, and the association is a partner of the American Opthalmology Academy. By giving the title of the surgeon of the month excellence within the profession is being promoted, and the prized professionals are placed at the very top of the world in this field, which gives a special kind of importance to this acknowledgment because it is an award given to professionals by other professionals in order to educate the association’s members.
