Doctors from the Svjetlost Eye Clinic at the Congress of the South-Eastern European Ophthalmological Society in Bratislava

Doctors from the Svjetlost Eye Clinic participated in the 13th Congress of the South-Eastern European Ophthalmological Society (SEEOS) and the 22nd Congress of the Slovak Ophthalmological Society, held in Bratislava from September 29 to October 1, 2016.

Ante Barišić, MD participated as a panelist at the Symposium of the South-Eastern European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (SESCRS), entitled “Cataract in Extreme Cases – Video Symposium,” where he presented a technique for managing decentered multifocal lenses based on an approach developed by Prof. Gabrić. The video presentation generated considerable interest among participants and received praise for its inventiveness and surgical skill.

Barišić ,MD also delivered two lectures at the Cataract Surgery Symposium. The topics included the implantation of a combination of two multifocal lenses in patients undergoing cataract surgery or refractive correction, as well as the implantation of the Symfony extended-depth-of-focus lens in cataract patients who had previously undergone laser vision correction.

Ivan Boras, MD a specialist in diseases of the posterior segment of the eye, gave a lecture on the use of and clinical experience with the latest Swept Source OCT technology, highlighting its advantages over previous generations of these devices.

Adi Pašalić, MD a specialist in the Cornea Department, gave a lecture at the Refractive Surgery Symposium on experience with the implantation of phakic ICL lenses in patients with high refractive errors and astigmatism. He also presented a lecture on cataract surgery following corneal transplantation.
