Svjetlost Eye Clinic welcomes another doctor of science to its team
Maja Bohač, MD successfully defended her doctoral dissertation comparing two methods of laser vision correction, thereby earning her PhD.
Zagreb, April 24, 2017 – Dr. Maja Bohač, Head of the Refractive Surgery Department at the Svjetlost Eye Clinic, successfully defended her doctoral dissertation at the University of Zagreb School of Medicine. She earned her PhD after defending her thesis entitled “Comparison of Femtosecond Laser and Mechanical Microkeratomes in Laser Corneal Dissection.”
The research is the result of several years of work comparing the outcomes of two different methods of laser vision correction: creating the corneal flap using a mechanical microkeratome versus a femtosecond laser. The results of the study will contribute to further improvements in the quality of care and patient satisfaction among those who choose laser vision correction.
Throughout her career, Maja Bohač , MD has performed more than 13,000 laser vision correction procedures, and her PhD represents an additional recognition of her professional expertise and scientific excellence.
The Svjetlost Eye Clinic currently has two full professors of ophthalmology, two associate professors, three PhDs, and one master’s degree holder. Four additional ophthalmology specialists are currently pursuing their doctoral degrees.
