The Svjetlost Eye Clinic Team Participated with 4 Lectures at the European Congress of Refractive and Cataract Surgery in Amsterdam

As is now customary, our doctors once again presented the latest developments in ophthalmology to colleagues from Europe and around the world.

During the three-day congress, they delivered as many as 4 lectures.

On Friday, Dr. Ivan Gabrić gave a lecture in the section on laser vision correction, where he presented the results of work on the newest Schwind ATOS laser. During the presentation, he showed more than 13 months of patient follow-up on this new, innovative laser, developed in collaboration with doctors from Svjetlost Clinic.

On Saturday morning, Assistant Professor Maja Bohač gave a lecture in the section on the new method of laser vision correction – lenticular extraction. During her lecture, she presented the results of this procedure performed with the Schwind ATOS, a laser partially developed at Svjetlost Eye Clinic. The lecture generated significant interest, as it represents a major step forward in this type of vision correction, and colleagues from Europe and around the world followed her presentation closely.

During the morning, Prof. Gabrić delivered a lecture as part of the symposium on modern lens surgery. Speaking to a full hall, he explained our philosophy of lens surgery and how we became the world’s leading institution in the application of the newest lens – the Johnson & Johnson Synergy – which Prof. Gabrić also chose for his own surgery. The greatest interest was generated by a video in which actor Esai Morales explained his experience with Svjetlost Clinic and this procedure.

On Saturday afternoon, Prof. Gabrić, Assistant Professor Bohač, and Dr. Ivan Gabrić held a meeting with the development team from Schwind to learn about the next steps in the development of this innovative device, as well as to connect with other users around the world.

Sunday morning was reserved for “Meet the Experts” at the Johnson & Johnson booth, where other doctors had the opportunity to discuss with Prof. Nikica Gabrić and Dr. Ivan Gabrić the various approaches to applying new methods for reading vision correction surgery.

On Monday, Dr. Krešimir Gabrić gave a lecture as part of the section on new intraocular lenses, where he presented our data and experience with Synergy lenses.
